Her voice is shaped by the soul of Norway fjords. Born in Oslo in 1971, she grew up in the North. There she lived in harmony between a priest father and a physiotherapist mother. From a five children family, she has been driven by sacred values and by a shared passion for music. Kristin Asbjørnsen’s songs are still immersed in her education : between mysticism and a faith for love. She plays a wide range of musical genres : Jazz, Improvisation, Pop, Rock, African Blues, Gospel, Electronic Music, which all create a very unique style. The American singer Ruth Reese, who has settled in Norway since the sixties, immediately took care of Kristin Asbjørnsen. The former help Kristin to reveal the secrets of traditional Afro-American songs. A true discovery ! With « Wayfaring Stranger », Kristin Asbjørnsen sings some of the traditional Gospel songs of her singing teacher. A roman-fleuve flows in her voice : her love for Africa, especially for Mali. Her music never misses to pay a real tribute to Timbuktu’s Blues and Mandingo Konting and is always lifted by throbbing beats in a the white desert of Norway.
