Peio Serbielle

Peio Serbielle

For a long time, Peio SERBIELLE has been traveling. Between his homeland and abroad. On the Earth. On other lands. Far from a sterile tradition, Peio SERBIELLE multiplies artistic and human encounters. Here and There…in France, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, Canada, etc. Always standing between tradition and modernity. At the age of 18, Peio SERBIELLE learnt the Basque language “Because, he says, I felt like I had only one leg without knowing the language of this country!”. When he decided to play music, he chose to sing only in Basque. He’s got a passionate and pure mind and fights for the culture and the language that shaped him. Because he hosted Basque freedom fighters he was put in prison in 2004. Many famous people, such as RENAUD, Georges MOUSTAKI and Maxime LE FORESTIER advocated for his cause. This bad time indelibly touched him. Peio now shares his damaged culture with passion.
