Nuru Kane comes from the Medina, the historical center of Dakar. He is the first and the only Senegalese musician to mix rhythms from his own country to the traditional music of the Gnawas. He is the masters of the Black Sufism from North Africa. He helps Northern and Western Africa to meet thanks to their musical similarities. Nuru Kane has learnt to play the Guembri, which is a three-string Bass, which represents the main instrument of the Gnawi music. He created the band Bayefall Gnawa with Thierry Fournel (oud and sanza: thumb piano) and Djéli Makan Sissoko (n'goni lute, tama percussion). On stage, Nuru Kane is full of energy. Without any difficulties, he plays a music full of surprises : the greatest to be the acoustic instruments he plays like an electrical orchestra !
