AFRICA FÊTE

AFRICA FÊTE

Created in 1978 by Mamadou Konté, the Africa Fête Festival first took place in Paris. The event was meant to increase the public awareness of the condition of African immigrated workers in France. The purpose of the label Africa Fête Diffusion that organized the event was to promote new talented musicians as well as the diversity of African music. Since 1986, the Africa Fête Festival has now his American version, and after wandering around 15 American cities, African Fête moved to Africa and the Indian Ocean.
