« Riverboat » This collection is an opportunity for surprising encounters. In 2002, the album Digdig was greeted by reviews. It resulted from a partnership between the guitarist Bob Brozman and the accordionist and singer from the Reunion : René Lacaille. Sierra Maestra « Rumbo Soy », a Cuban band has also invited Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Potuondo and Marc Ribot to play. Amongst the diverse releases of Riverboat, there are Okinawan Dance (Ryukyu Underground), the beginning of Dilon Djindji’s career : a singer and guitarist from Mozambique as well as the albums of Bob Brozman and Debashish Bhattacharya, Javier Ruibal, Pancho Quinto, Emmanuel Jal & Abdel Gadir Salim, Shukar Collective, Saba, Mory Kanté, René Lacaille… « The Rough Guide » includes more than a hundred of tracks. This album tries to give the best keys to explore the music of a particular region or country as well as specific genres (Ska, Salsa, Latin Jazz, Tango, Zydeco, Blues, Fado). It also aims to present musical styles from all over the world. Amongst other, the best successes reprented are Bollywood, Paris Café Music, Salsa, Cuban Son, music from Mali or Guinée. In 2002, the idea of such a collection extended to some famous artists, such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Hassan Kuban, Youssou N'Dour and Ravi Shankar, Manu Dibango, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Astor Piazzola... Rough Guide represents a musical Bible for experienced world travelers ! Introducing This collection was born from a desire to introduce exceptional talented artists, but still unrecognized out of their own country. At a time where consumption is going so fast, « Introducing » takes the time to deeply present all the artists. The booklets that come with the records are full of information about artists, their music and songs. It is sold on a really affordable price. The first four albums were devoted to Daby Balde – Sukke – Vakoka et Shiyani Ngcobo
